A hackathon is 'coding marathon'. Participants form groups of one to four people and spend 12 hours developing whatever project excites them. Through workshops, mentors, mini-events, games, and teambuilding, participants will be able to create their project, grow their network, and learn exciting new concepts all in one night.
This is something we hear on a daily basis, and we all tell them the same thing: it's okay, you're not alone. Most others who attend have little-to-no experience. Just come, learn, try something new!
Anything you can imagine! We've seen projects of all kinds: AI, design/animations, hardware, robot mazes, websites, servers, graphic arts, VR games, video games, Java programs, etc etc. However, we encourage you to be creative.
Nope! Most people come alone and look for others to team up with. But if you decide to come with a team already made, that's fine too!
Here are the usual things people bring:
Laptop, mouse charger (Desktop PCs and monitors are allowed, although not as common)
Extra snacks if you want
Any medications you need
Of course! Chromebooks are availble for you to use.
You must be a high school student to attend. College students may apply to be mentors.
Of course! Please email Narek (ohanyanarek@gmail.com) to register your school instead of registering every student one at a time.
Only $5, but we will provide lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks, swag, and much more.
Hack Park will be located at Lake Park High School East Campus, 600 Medinah Rd, Roselle, IL 60172 in the student cafetaria. You will have to provide your own transportation there.
